In 1988, the Anthony Chamber of Commerce voted to sponser the one and only Worldwide Leap Year Festival and Worldwide Leap Year Birthday Club, making Anthony the Leap Year Capital of the World.  Every four years since, Anthony has hosted a multi-day celebration for leap year babies and anniversary couples from across the globe.  This celebration is internationally recognized with guests coming from around the world to join in the celebration!
